Nivel Intermediate
In this self-paced course, students will learn how to play "The Star Spangled Banner" on piano. This class is best for late beginners or very early intermediate piano learners. Each week, we take on a new section of the song, learning each part Hands Separately before putting them Hands Together. Students will be encouraged to practice the given sections on their own time between lessons. I have a very positive, bubbly and patient teaching style. We will have fun learning a song that everyone knows and loves! My lesson videos include myself speaking, the sheet music with the measures we're working on highlighted in real time, and a top-down view of my hands on my keyboard that is aligned with a digital keyboard that lights up and names the keys I touch in real time. All of this provides a ton of information for the student and is particularly great for visual learners. This is a self-paced class and we will not meet live, but I can be contacted for feedback and questions once a week or so, for the first four weeks of enrollment. I can usually respond within 24 hours. If the student practices regularly, they can complete the song/class in 4-5 weeks, assuming they are at the appropriate level with their piano studies (ideal playing level is explained in the pre-requisites section.) If you choose to pay weekly, you will receive the lessons weekly, rather than all at once.

The Star Spangled Banner: B Section
In Lesson 3, students will learn the B section (third stanza or "prechorus") of The Star Spangled Banner. Once they learn this section, they have almost got the whole song!
We will learn each hand separately, and then work to get the hands playing together.
Students will then be encouraged to practice both the A and B sections Hands Together on their own to get it all smoothed-out.

Lección 4:
The Star Spangled Banner: C Section
In Lesson 4, learners will embark on the C Section, which is the 4th and final stanza (or "chorus") of the Star Spangled Banner.
The final stanza is the most challenging part, with more extensive use of crossovers and shifting in the Right Hand. Again, we will learn each hand separately and slowly, and then put the hands together.
Students will be encouraged to practice this section on their own some more until they feel comfortable with it. And now they know all 3 parts of the song!
