Aprende a multiplicar con Escape Rooms

Multiplication is fun! Let’s learn how to multiply with escape rooms!

This fun class is run over four weeks, learners will have fun and learn about math skills.

Each week will consist of a video lesson which the children can watch to understand that lesson’s learning point, they will then use the knowledge they have gained to take part in Multiplication class activities, including group discussion, practical activities and online escape room games. They will use the OutSchool classroom to support each other, take part in activities and contribute to group work. 

While this class does not meet live, the children will still be expected to participate by completing the set tasks, returning videos and photos of their work and commenting on other’s. Each week learners will need to join in class discussions to expand on how they used the learning point and how they have developed their own ideas. 

Week 1: This week we will start off by looking at multiplication in arrays, how it works and the different approaches to solving multiplication problems. The class will watch the learning videos, complete the set problem solving activity and then participate in an online escape room which practices the skills we have learnt.

Week 2: Week 2 is all using the grid method to multiply. It is important for children to develop an understanding of the different methods of multiplying to understand the concepts. After the learning the students will have work to complete and another escape room to support their learning.

Week 3: This week we will learn about column method. This week will also include the use of word problems in multiplication and how to solve them. The learners will again be given tasks to complete and an escape room to demonstrate their knowledge

Week 4: In our final week we will look at multiplication in the real world. This week looks closely at word problems in multiplication. Learners will find practical examples and complete questions from tasks set as well as a final escape room to practice the things we have learnt.

The escape rooms are hosted on the Boom Learning web site. This site does not require any log in and does not record any information about the learners.
