Want to be more confident in your drawing of realistic animals?

Want to learn tried and true methods of approaching animal drawing in a realistic style?

Then join this weekly ongoing class, where every week we focus on a new animal and I teach you how to draw it with a step-by-step method that makes it easy, fun, and leaves you with a wonderfully detailed and accurate drawing.

In the Realistic Animal Drawing Club, we will be learning the tools of the trade to render various realistic animals. Learn to draw fur, scales, feathers, shells, and much more using pencil.

Whether you are a beginning artist just learning the ropes, or are an advanced artist hoping to sharpen your skills, this course is designed to walk students through simple techniques to enhance their drawings to the best of their abilities.

Classes begin with a welcome, introduction to the topic, and a warmup. Then we analyze our subject for the day and then students draw along with me as I do a demonstration. We refine basic shapes into a more refined drawing, practice details, and add shading. In the end, students leave every class with a finished drawing of the week's animal, and confident with a new approach to drawing the animal kingdom

Here is the schedule, subject to change. Just send us a message if you want to know what animal we're on for sure:
Week 1: Lion
Week 2: Pug
Week 3: Bearded Dragon
Week 4: Butterfly
Week 5: Cobra
Week 6: Owl
Week 7: Frog
Week 8: Fox
Week 9: Bear
Week 10: Orca
Week 11: Cat
Week 12: Bunny

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
✏️ Amanda Kazemi, MFA, PRO ARTIST AND EDUCATOR:
Amanda is an experienced educator and practicing professional artist. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in fine art from San Diego State University and her state teaching credentials. She taught for four years in the San Diego Unified School District, working with students in grades 6-12. In 2021, She left to pursue her master’s degree at Laguna College of Art and Design. She will graduate with her MFA in in drawing in the Spring of 2023. She is passionate about the arts, particularly using simple tools like graphite and charcoal. Her work—displayed in a number of art exhibitions— is primarily in grayscale, but she is well-versed in color theory and painting in various mediums and substrates. While creating art is her idea of fun, she finds nothing more exciting than seeing young folks share the same sentiment. Creating art can be an incredibly rewarding tool to express yourself. She hopes to nurture that with the students in the classroom. One fun fact about her is that she is a huge animal lover and has three dogs. They have even made appearances in her artwork! She loves to draw inspiration from her surroundings and include them in her work.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn how to draw a newly assigned animal each week. We will draw animals that have different textures and patterns such as reptiles to fuzzy mammals. Students will learn how to observe basic shapes that make up an animal's anatomy to create realistic proportions.
