Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. 4 - 7
Nivel Beginner
This self-paced class allows you to learn how to crochet at your own speed with detailed instruction from an experienced fiber arts teacher. This class is great for complete beginners as well as students who have tried crochet in the past but felt confused. (Each skill-based lesson is divided into right-handed and left-handed orientations.)

We will be making a simple cat plushie that you can customize. Each new lesson will build on the previous lesson as we work, step-by-step, on our cat. So what exactly will we learn?

The first two videos will be all about making a chain. We'll focus on how to hold the yarn and hook as well as how to make a chain stitch. The first lesson has two parts: the initial introduction as well as a support video for anyone who is struggling.

After that, we will move on to learning the single crochet stitch, counting, keeping a square straight, sewing pieces together, and adding details to the face.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions and I hope you have fun making a cat plushie!

Lista de útiles escolares
Let's talk about supplies! Please read the list and then message me with any questions you have. I will leave my own personal recommendations with links at the bottom of the list but you may use whatever brands you like.

**If you have never knit or crochet before, please do not purchase furry or velvet-y yarns. They are very difficult to learn with. You can use them once you've learned to make stitches with confidence. :)

1. YARN. Beginner learners do best with larger yarn and hook sizes. Yarn sized 5 or 6 will be great for class. (If you would rather try to make the smaller cat, you can look for size 4 yarn and a size 4.5mm hook)

2. HOOKS. Hook size recommendations with be on your yarn label. Typically, hook sizes 8mm, 9mm, and 10mm go well with the yarn listed above.

3. SCISSORS. Please speak to your student about using scissors responsibly or be available to cut yarn for them.

4. STITCH MARKERS. Stitch markers must be able to be opened in order to be used in crochet. You can purchase some or you can use paper clips/safety pins.

5. NEEDLE. You can purchase yarn needles/tapestry needles at any craft store or on amazon. These aren't really listed by size but you will need a larger version for large yarn.

"Ah!! There are too many options!!"
I hear you! Below is a list of supplies I personally recommend. These are online links but you can absolutely find these options or very similar at other retailers/in person. (Walmart, Michael's, Joann, etc)
