Experiencia de clase

Students will learn about Solutions. Class will begin with the preparation of our supersaturated solution to make our rock candy crystals. While our solution cools students will view an exciting powerpoint presentation. During the presentation students will view in class demonstrations as well as prerecorded demonstrations to reinforce what they are learning. After the presentation we will continue the process of starting rock candy crystals to grow. The students have the option to start growing their rock candy in class as I grow mine. They also have the option to watch as I grow my rock candy and make their own after class. To grow rock candy you need at least 3 days. Two weeks is actually better. In class we will start the rock candy growing process. Students will be taught how to maintain their rock candy as it continues to grow. In addition, after class I will be available through Outschool messaging to answer any questions that students may have. If students choose to start growing their rock candy crystals after class, the class recording is also available.

Please Note:
Growing rock candy involves boiling a water and sugar mixture. If you are not comfortable with your learner heating and handling a hot solution parental assistance will be needed. Please take note of the ingredients to ensure your learner is not allergic to any of the ingredients.

Hi, I am very happy to have the opportunity to help your child learn and realize their full potential in Science. My classes are fun and exciting. Your Learners will learn all about Science while completing cool and fascinating experiments. In each class students will get the opportunity to perform fun but educational labs. They will learn how and why everything works. I'm a Chemist. I obtained a BS in Chemistry and Secondary Education with a minor in Computer Science from Longwood University. I have taught in the public school system teaching Chemistry and Mathematics on the High School level. In addition, I have taught Science classes on the Middle School level. I also teach ESL courses online. I also love crafting and cooking. I began learning to sew, knit, bake and cook at about 8 years old at home and in the 4-H club. Since College I have also fell in love with real estate, and have become a real estate investor. It's like real life monopoly. Real estate investing is fun and challenging all in one.

Currently I am a Chemist for the Department of Transportation. What I do enjoy most about my job with the DOT is when I get the opportunity to work with STEM students throughout the year. They visit and I get to show them all the cool stuff I do at work. I have always had a love for science and teaching. I would always find a way to do experiments and teach my dolls as a kid. I love teaching so much and can't wait to possibly inspire more future Scientist.
