Did you know that playing an instrument can... *Improve your confidence. When you become better at refining your skills and notice your success, your confidence begins to soar. *Sharpen your concentration. Research shows that musicians are quicker to notice their mistakes and fix them. *Increase memory capacity. Research suggests that regularly learning an instrument changes the shape and power of your brain. *Help with literacy and math skills. Since learning music uses these skills, it can help with the academic side as well. This one-on-one class is designed to: -introduce new musicians to the beginning level of playing guitar. -build upon and refine the skills of more advanced players. -teach students according to their level of experience. -teach one or more skills like common guitar chords, proper hand positions, various strumming techniques, capos, basic guitar pedals, open/alternate tunings, and even some fingerpicking. Learners can bring me a song they want to learn how to play and I will teach them how to play it. In this case, it would be helpful to send me the song at least 24 hours before class starts so I can be prepared for the lesson. My highest goal is that playing guitar would be a fun experience for everyone! PLEASE NOTE: *This class is not designed to teach all of these skills in a single 30 minute time limit. *The level of acoustic guitar experience of each individual learner and what the student wants to learn will determine how many of these skills will be taught in any given class. *Having the guitar tuned before class starts increases the amount of learning time in class. I will be happy to help tune the guitar in class, but that will limit what I am able to teach that week. *Left-handed students should have a left-handed guitar. Technically, it's possible to re-string a right-handed guitar for a left handed student. But this should only be done by a professional. Here's a good article on how to tell the difference between a right-handed and left-handed guitar: https://leftyfretz.com/right-left-handed-guitar-difference/ ** If you do not see a time that works for you, please let me know!

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I have been a musician for over 25 years, with the main instruments I play being acoustic guitar, classical guitar, and bass guitar.
I grow out the nails on my thumb and first three fingers on my right hand so that I can play traditional classical guitar and fingerpicking on acoustic guitar.
My experience:
-Opened for Josh Kaufman, Season 6 winner of The Voice
-played bass guitar on my sister's album when she was with a record label
-played all three instruments in many different bands and performances
-taught many students, including my own children
-repair and maintain all of my own instruments
-perform at nursing homes and assisted living facilities with my family
