In this one-time class students will be introduced to our earliest art - paintings and drawings from our ancient past discovered on rock walls and deep, dark caves. A short presentation of the types of ancient art, the methods at which our ancestors drew and painted as well as ways of interpreting ancient art will be presented using photographs and video. Learners will be called upon to interpret ancient art examples in a fun, group session. Next, learners will gather up their supplies of paper, pencils and optional coloring tools to create their very own cave art. The goal is to learn new, simple techniques while exploring story-telling through art. In the end, learners will have their very own unique cave art which will be explained and created step-by-step live with the instructor.
