Fans of Rick Riordan, Chris Grabenstein, and Jerry Spinelli will all love this class as we look at popular book series and learn valuable leadership lessons. We will break down the leadership characteristics of each main character and then discuss how they are best able to work together to complete a task. Students will then step into a leadership role and have to decide who they would delegate tasks to as they plan the upcoming Ball or Party. This class meets LIVE for two weeks. Week One: Introduction to the Characters (based on student interest) and assessing their Leadership Styles Week Two: Students are given a goal and must assign tasks to each Character to ensure success. Other skills students will learn include - Communicating to a team as a leader - Delegating tasks - Steps to be successful in any team project

I daily work with students on developing their leadership skills and project management. One of my favorite workshops is showing students how to best delegate tasks to their team members based on their skills and interests. We are able to do this by looking at characters in literature and deciding what they are able to contribute to a team that sets them each up for success.
