Welcome to the Kwanzaa Creativity Camp for Kids! Our one-hour daily camp is designed to inspire creativity and celebrate the principle of Kuumba during the joyous week of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is a week-long cultural celebration observed primarily in the African-American community, honoring African heritage and promoting unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Immerse your child in a fun and engaging environment where they will explore their creativity through a variety of activities, crafts, music, and games. Each day, we focus on a different principle of Kwanzaa, encouraging children to express themselves and contribute to the collective beauty of community. Each day students will create a beautiful craft and learn about the principle of the day. Day 1: Umoja (Unity) - Unity Paper Chain Day 2: Kujichagulia (Self-Determination) - Name Banner of Greatness Day 3: Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility) - Kindness Rocks Day 4: Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics) - Community Business Ideas Day 5: Nia (Purpose) -Vision Board Collage Day 6: Kuumba (Creativity) - Creativity Jar Day 7: Imani (Faith) - The Poet's Corner At the Kwanzaa Creativity Camp, children will not only have a blast creating art but will also gain a deeper understanding of the importance of building a strong and vibrant community. Join us each day for an hour of fun, inspiration, and celebration!

Orientación para padres
This course is focused on the culture and crafts of Kwanzaa. Discussions will be limited to the arts and culture of the holiday. A brief history of the holiday will be shared to provide context for the holiday (i.e. the founder and the date of the first Kwanzaa celebrated). We will not dive into deep histories and politics.
