In this fun and interactive class, learners will explore the power of kindness, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Through engaging discussions, role-playing activities, and creative projects, students will build important social skills that help them navigate friendships, express their emotions, and communicate positively with others. We’ll cover topics like: Understanding and managing emotions. Practicing empathy and understanding different perspectives. Communicating effectively and respectfully with peers and adults. Problem-solving and handling conflicts with kindness. Each session will include hands-on activities, such as group scenarios, storytelling, and games that reinforce these critical life skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. By the end of this class, learners will feel more confident in their ability to build positive relationships and make a difference in their communities through kindness!

For this class, we will refer to a variety of children’s picture books, articles, and online resources to help bring the lessons to life. Some of the books we will explore include The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig, which teaches empathy and kindness, and How Full Is Your Bucket? For Kids by Tom Rath, which helps us understand how our actions affect others. We will also look at resources from The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and CASEL, which offer fun ways to practice kindness and emotional intelligence. These materials will guide us as we learn about managing emotions, communicating positively, and building strong, supportive friendships.
