What are sight words? Sight words and high-frequency words are common words that appear frequently in written texts. These words are often not easily decodable using regular phonetic rules and are usually memorized by sight. Sight words are important for early readers because they make up a significant portion of the words they encounter in their reading materials. These words are often taught in early literacy programs and are emphasized in early reading instruction. By recognizing sight words automatically, children can read more fluently and with greater comprehension. In this class, there will be a different theme each week. The theme will also be seen and talked about throughout the class in a positive and friendly environment. The 5 sight words are seen and repeated many times during the class and during the games. A worksheet will be provided at least 24 hours before class. It can be completed before class to prepare or after class as a review. These are teacher-created games that focuses on sight word recognition. Designed specifically for young learners, this class is perfect for children who are just starting to read or struggling with sight word recognition. Class Routine and activities 1. Greetings 2.
