Grado de EE. UU. Kindergarten - 1
Welcome Outschool Families! In our weekly class, Kindergarten & 1st grade students will cover a years worth of core science curriculum! Each week we take a deep dive into a new topic covering concepts from Life Sciences to the use of Simple Machines! To match our weekly topic, students will participate in a hands-on activity that puts our knowledge to the test. Our weekly activity will range from a science experiment, S.T.E.M. challenge or simple paper activity (worksheet). What will students achieve in class? We cover most concepts found in a typical brick & mortar Kinder/1st grade class. Based on Common Core criteria, I have created this class to guide young scientists on their journey of not only covering important science concepts, but to engage their mind in real-world scenarios. The most important takeaway from this class is to gain a better understanding of the world around them, and how things work! Students will apply what is taught in class to that of a hands-on activity. Another key component that I have found useful is providing students with the ability to put what is learned into motion. Every student learns and retains information differently; it is one of Teacher Jessica's priorities to differentiate learning by providing lessons through the use of visuals, auditory & kinesthetic methods! ------------ 📆 WEELY SCHEDULE 📆 ------------ ⭐️ Section 1: Life Sciences Sept. 3rd - 5th: Living & Nonliving Sept. 9th - 12th: Parts of a Plant Sept. 16th - 19th: Plant Life Cycles Sept. 23rd - 26th: Comparing Plants & Animals Sept. 30th - Oct. 3rd: Animal Habitat ⭐️ Section 2: Earth Science Oct. 7th - 10th: Natural & Man-made Resources Oct. 14th - 17th: Water Cycle Oct. 21st - 24th: Four Seasons Oct. 28th - 31st: Wild Weather Nov. 4th - 7th: Wild Weather (Cont'd) ⭐️ Section 3: Physical Science Nov. 12th - 14th: Types of Matter Nov. 18th - 22nd: Solids Dec. 2nd - 5th: Liquids Dec. 9th - 12th: Gases Dec. 16th - 20th: Water & Matter Jan. 13th - 16th: Sun (light, heat & shadows) ⭐️ Section 4: Space Jan. 20th - 23rd: Solar System Jan. 27th - 30th: Moon (phases & craters) Feb. 3rd - 6th: Daytime/Nighttime ⭐️ Section 5: Simple Machines Feb. 10th - 13th: Levers Feb. 17th - 20th: Pulleys Feb. 24th - 27th: Inclined Planes Mar. 3rd - 6th: Wheels Mar. 10th - 13th: Simple Machines ⭐️ Section 6: Five Senses & Forces Mar. 17th - 20th: Fives Senses Mar. 24th - 27th: Pushes & Pulls Mar. 31st - Apr. 3rd: Forces Apr. 7th - 10th: Magnets ----------Holiday/Break Schedule---------- Sept. 2nd: Labor Day Nov. 11th: Veterans Day Nov. 25th - 29th: Thanksgiving Break Dec. 23rd - Jan. 9th: Winter Break February 17th: Presidents Day Mar. 31st - Apr.4th: Spring Break May 26th: Memorial Day

Welcome! My name is Jessica (Teacher Jessica). I have my Master's in Elementary Education (multiple subjects)! I have taught in the 6th grade classroom, and as of the last four years I have been teaching here on Outschool!
My teaching experience has given me the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure all students can thrive inside and outside of the classroom. Being an elementary school teacher, I enjoy and have fun teaching in all areas; as you may notice with my class listings I enjoy doing a little bit of everything!
I love to enhance learning development, and to watch each student grow individually. I look forward to meeting your child!
Aside from work life, I have a husband and three little ones! Outside of teaching, we love to be outside in nature, reading is life, and family time is everything!
