1 hora por semana. The homework assignment can be located in the learners manual. Parent and child will use the guide to discuss safety features in the house along with what is allowed when home alone. Part of the homework is for the learner to be home alone during the day for 15-30 minutes while the parents or family takes a walk. There are a few questions the learner can answer immediately after this experience. An evening assignment is also suggested but not required *Parents will need to check local state laws before leaving a child home alone. In the US, only OR, MD and IL have age requirements but taking a class will only help give them the confidence needed.Experiencia de clase
With over 27 years of experience teaching this class, our class is designed for kids who are either already staying home alone or getting ready to stay home alone. Being a tween means more independence from parents and most learners need to be taught how to care for themselves and be safe, when home alone for a short period of time. Each child will be issued a student manual that they complete as we go through the class. The class focuses mainly on decision making and problem solving and prevention. We will discuss emergency situations and when to call 911 and when to call parents. There is a parent/child homework assignment between week 1 and 2, so the child and parent can discuss and agree on what is allowed when home alone. This is a non threatening class and will help your child feel more comfortable being home alone.
