This is a weekly, ongoing class for a small group of advanced beginner piano students. Students should already have a basic understanding of notes on the staff, names of the white keys, and simple rhythms. I use a lot of visuals and engaging activities where each student gets to participate multiple times during each class. Learners may use a piano or electric keyboard. Students will learn a different song each week, as well as focus on different musical concepts. After each lesson I will post practice slides and a practice video for ongoing learning. Week 1 August 8-14 Sharps and Flats Week 2 August 15-21 Keys of C and G Week 3 August 22-28 Key of F Week 4 August 29-Sept. 4 Intervals-2nds and 3rds

Hello! I'm Ms. Troeh (it rhymes with "grow") and I love teaching kids! I have taught music for over 30 years at schools in the US, Greece, and Taiwan. I have a Master's degree in Music and am a certified teacher. I play piano, harp, recorder, guitar and ukulele.
Besides teaching, I write songs, perform as a musician and actor, work freelance as a graphic artist, and make crowns and Renaissance jewelry, I've even made crowns for the TV shows "Reign" and "The Spanish Princess."
