Weekly (twice a week) rotation of 1 of 33 different concepts in each class so that your student has all the math topics he/she needs to understand to do well on the SAT comprehensively covered with detailed instruction.

This class is exactly the same content as the main Kickin' It Comprehensive but it's for students who can move at an accelerated pace as the content is covered in 17 weeks rather than 33.

This 2 day a week class pairs well with the Kickin' It Rapid Fire which has less instruction and more rapid practice.

Skill from this class + Speed from the Rapid Fire class = Great scores on the SAT!

I've been teaching math for sixteen years and I've been a personal SAT tutor for seven years. My students have typically raised their scores between 150 and 300 points.

Learners reinforce their skills in algebraic terminology and tricks! We all study and prepare for the SAT as best as we can. And we may even feel like we can do algebra pretty well. But what separates the good SAT math scores from those of excellence is the student who doesn't have to stop to try to remember how to approach something. While everyone sometimes has to do that, there is still hope! There are certain tricks and terms in algebra that can be drilled and reinforced for speed. That could make big difference in your final score!

This class will take SAT Practice questions and work through them with the students to keep them on track for being ready for the PSAT/SAT. I keep the class lively, informative, and encourage learner input while helping every understand we're in the same boat - everyone is learning!

Metas de aprendizaje
After several cycles of these five weekly topics, your learner will be able to say, "I can more easily and quickly solve the medium-difficulty level PSAT / SAT math word problems that involve the following topics: Word Problems with Percentages and Ratios, Word Problems with Means, Medians, and Modes, Word Problems with Linear Equations, Word Problems with Scatter Plots and Regression, Word Problems with Partially-Filled Data Tables

Students will be more prepared for medium-difficulty level PSAT / SAT math word problems on the PSAT/SAT, and thereby preparing them for the more advance PSAT/SAT prep which is covered in the Kick It course (non-junior edition). Among the topics that will be covered with the goal of increase recollection speed and accuracy are: how to expand using brackets, combining like terms, quickly doing substitutions, deciding which line from a graph has a positive or negative slope, recognizing words typically used in word problems and how they usually translate to equations, how to represent a rate of decrease in an equation, the difference between equations and functions, point-slope formula when looking at a graph.

Your student will come out of this game far more quick-on-their-feet for the math SAT.

Orientación para padres
Students will have far more fun if they have studied linear equations and are comfortable with the terminology and concepts. This class is not an introductory or concept teaching class. Its sole purpose is to build speed and students are expected to be familiar enough to participate.

I've been certified in the public schools for teaching math in middle and high schools. I received additional certified training for gifted and talented learners. I taught math for sixteen years and I've been a personal SAT tutor for seven years. My students have typically raised their scores between 100 and 300 points. As a chemical engineer and project management professional in the world of business consulting and information technology consulting, I've completed over five levels of college calculus and applied mathematics and used these math and computing skills throughout my career.

The students I have taught had varying learning abilities that ranged from one with pronounced learning disabilities to gifted and talented. When it came to PSAT's and SAT's, each of them with impressive improvements in their scores.

It can be done! Just watch how your learner improves!
