In this engaging Junie B. Jones book club, we will read through the book series.   In each session we will 1-3 chapters (depending on chapter length), incorporating comprehension and vocabulary strategies to support young readers. Through interactive read-alouds, discussion, and fun activities, learners will build confidence and critical thinking skills.

Each class includes:

- A lively read-aloud with pauses for discussion, predictions, and comprehension checks
- Vocabulary exploration to help learners understand new words in context
- Time for learners to share thoughts, make connections, and discuss favorite moments
- Activities such as drawing, acting out scenes, or simple writing prompts to deepen understanding

My teaching style is interactive and encouraging, helping kids engage with the story while fostering a love of reading. Learners will have multiple opportunities to participate through guided discussion and sharing their ideas. This class is a great way to build literacy skills while having fun with Junie B.’s adventures!

I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership. With 20 years in public education, including 9 years as a kindergarten teacher, I have extensive experience fostering early literacy skills. I have taught reading comprehension and vocabulary development to young learners in both classroom and small-group settings, using engaging read-alouds to build fluency, comprehension, and a love of books. My background in early education allows me to create a warm, interactive environment where young readers feel confident sharing their ideas and growing their literacy skills.
