Students in this class will learn to compare and contrast different cryptid (monster) stories from around the globe. Students will be told 3-5 cryptid stories each week, with a focus on a unique type (ex. aquatic) of cryptid. The tales will be told orally and sometimes with the use of puppets or very short video clips. Once the stories are told students will vote on which myth they like best via the chatbot or orally if they are comfortable. Once the votes are tallied the winning cryptid story with be utilized in a breakout room where students will compare/contrast the winner with one of the others(selected by the teacher). The goal is to list the similarities and differences and take the best of both worlds to create a new story. Imagine if bigfoot and the loch ness have to share space. In the end, the students will create a new story based on the winner and the other story.
