Experiencia de clase

This course expands upon my first Japanese course. Even though the class material is made up of prerecorded lessons, students are still required to participate and interact with other students. Every week will include a “question of the week” where students will learn how to ask and answer a question in Japanese. There are also Kahoot quizzes to help test learner's knowledge and retention.

WEEK ONE: Learn shapes and seasons. Kahoot quiz. Question and answer of the week.
WEEK TWO: Days of the week and months of the year. Question and answer of the week.
WEEK THREE: 10 articles of clothing. Learn about the weather and climate. Kahoot quiz. Question and answer of the week.
WEEK FOUR: Let’s talk! Communicate while using our new vocabulary. Some topics include questions and phrases such as: What do you like? Where do you live? How is the weather? Which season is your favorite? I am cold. I am warm. It is hot. You look beautiful.

Each week there will be a series of new learning videos. During these lessons students will follow along with me as if it’s a live class. For some classes, I will write and draw pictures of target words while students at home do the same. Together we will create a colorful book of pictures, words and phrases that students can cherish for all time. I will model the language but also encourage students to repeat at home.

Although this is a "Flex" class, students are still required to participate. Each week there will be a question and answer section at the end of class. Students are encouraged to create videos of themselves answering the question while using a full sentence. When each class ends, students will take a picture of their work and share with the class. They can also share videos of themselves speaking to help with pronunciation.

I am not a native speaker and therefore have a mid-eastern American accent.

How does a “Flexible Schedule” course work?
*No scheduled live video chats. A series of prerecorded videos will be available each week to view and learn at your convenience.
*Discussions via classroom forum and private messages with the teacher
*Great if your learner prefers independent pacing or is uncomfortable with live video chat

I have been taking weekly Japanese language classes for the past three years. I am not a native speaker and therefore have a mid-eastern American accent. However, I was encouraged by my teacher (Yoshino Sensi) to teach Japanese. All of my classes are basic Japanese skills for beginners. I enjoy the language and learning about Japanese culture. My three children have also been taking Japanese classes for the past three years. We often play memory games and practice speaking with each other in Japanese.
