Step into the magical world of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in this engaging four-week online course designed for middle school students. We’ll explore themes of courage, loyalty, and redemption while meeting unforgettable characters and analyzing key elements of this classic novel. Each week, students will read assigned chapters, complete writing prompts, and participate in discussions and creative activities to deepen their understanding of the story and improve their reading and writing skills. The course concludes with a creative final project and presentation. Class Experience What will be taught? This class focuses on improving reading comprehension, critical thinking, and writing skills through an in-depth study of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Students will also practice creative expression and gain confidence in presenting their ideas. What topics will you cover? Literary analysis (themes, character development, and plot structure). Writing skills (chapter prompts, creative exercises). Critical thinking and discussion. Presentation skills through the final project. How is your class structured? Duration: 4 weeks, meeting once per week for 50 minutes. Weekly Structure: - Reading assignments (chapters outlined in advance). - Guided writing prompts based on the reading. - Interactive class discussions. - Enrichment activities to bring the story to life. - Final week includes project presentations. How will you teach? I use a blend of teaching methods, including: - Brief lectures with slides to introduce literary concepts. - Guided discussions to encourage student participation and critical thinking. - Writing exercises designed to connect students with the text. - Creative activities such as character mapping, artistic expression, or storytelling. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and student-centered. I aim to make learning fun and engaging while fostering a welcoming environment where students feel encouraged to share ideas and express their creativity. How much will learners get to interact with you? Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with me during live discussions and activities. Additionally, students are welcome to reach out with questions throughout the week. I will respond to all messages within 24 hours to ensure they have the support they need to succeed!
