There will not be homework, however, there will be a "Challenge" at the end, that puts together everything that we've gone over as a class. Throughout the lesson, I will explain how to do ONE specific thing, and give examples for the students. Then, they will try on their own to do that ONE thing. So we will do a well-known teaching principle: I DO, WE DO, YOU DO. I do it first, then we do it together, then YOU do. In the end, there will be a challenge combining everything learned in the course.Evaluación
Learners will be accessed by a review challenge, in the beginning, going over everything that they should already know from either previous knowledge or from taking my previous course.Experiencia de clase
In this course, we will dive in a little bit more with Python basics. At this point, students will be expected to know basic concepts like variables and basic functions. We will learn about the Order of Operations and the way that you complete problems, Comparison Operators (They are: !=, <, >, <=, >=), Logical Operators (And, or & not), as well as the Level of Importance of Operators (figuring out what operators to complete first, in order of importance from greatest to least), Updating Variables (x += # and x-= #) as well as the Input() Function! Students will then have a challenge where we put together everything we've learned to complete a problem. In this course, we will be creating our first program/game! Students will be learning via Zoom. I will have access to view their screens and help them with their code. Throughout the lesson, I will explain how to do ONE specific thing at a time, for example, we will learn how to use the logical operators to say something like x > 3 AND x > 10. Students will communicate with the instructor and each other via Zoom. We will take turns sharing our screens and our code. The class is approximately 1 hour, with 40 minutes given for the "Challenge" at the end. Please note, if everyone completes the challenge BEFORE time is up, we will review, but the class may finish a few minutes early.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn what comparison operators are, and how to use them, as well as logical operators, and the level of importance of these operators as well as updating variables and using the input function. We will then learn why it is useful for programmers to take input from a user, and how that information and input can then be manipulated to produce other results.

Orientación para padres
In order to take this course, students will need to create a FREE account on replit.com. This is a free website that will allow students to create their own python script to practice hands-on coding examples as they follow along with the instructor. This is where the majority of the lesson will take place, besides zoom's chatbox feature.
