Class Experience The class utilizes a lecture/powerpoint format - learners can answer questions from the instructor based on their level of comfort and ask questions throughout the class, as needed. I design my classes this way so that it is comfortable for those learners who prefer to just listen as oppose to talk or prefer to have their cameras off during class. All learners are encouraged to share if they have thoughts or questions. Orientación para padres
There is discussion at one point about cults (Jim Jones) and obedience to a cult leader as well as brief references to Hitler when we talk about Milgram's studies in Obedience. Violence is also mentioned when discussing the bystander effect and deindividuation but we do not go into graphic detail; it can be disturbing to some learners hearing about violence and mass suicides. The content is developmentally age appropriate. We also discuss drugs and mental illness. If a learner brings up inappropriate content for the class or appears to be emotionally bothered by any of the topics I will follow up with the learner and/or parent.
