This lesson will introduce learners to one-point perspective art, developing their understanding of key concepts and associated vocabulary. By doing so, it will help them to ‘see’ objects from different angles and viewpoints. They will also become more adept at using drawing equipment such as T-Squares, rulers and set squares. Students will follow along with the step-by-step live demonstrations to complete a sketched version of their scene, which may need to be completed outside of class time. They will have the opportunity to share their work-in-progress with others and ask questions throughout class time and post their finished pieces to the classroom. Using the fundamental principles of one-point perspective, learners can adapt the level of detail or difficulty by easily creating their own interpretations during the lesson. I encourage them to be as creative as possible, adding their own personal style to the piece. Why not go fantasy or futuristic? During class, we will be using my own sketches, royalty-free reference images (available to print out before the lesson) as well as presentation slides. For practical demonstrations, I will be using an overhead camera for easier viewing of techniques. Each lesson is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all learners.

Hi and welcome! My name is Paula, aka: 'The Tutorly Owl' and I'm really pleased you've stopped by.
I’m a qualified UK Primary School Teacher of nearly twenty years, and I teach a broad range of subjects. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, with an English Specialism and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Warwick. In 2021, I also completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course am I am now a certified ESL teacher. I’m a great believer in lifelong learning so I’m always looking for my next personal challenge!
With a true passion for teaching and learning, I’m really excited to bring my enthusiasm, favourite lessons and personal teaching style to the Outschool platform.
So what are my absolute favourites?
Well, in a nutshell, anything that involves drawing on my creativity!
* Writing: stories, poetry, play scripts, posters, presentations or anything else imaginative!
* Arts and Crafts: card-making, 3D papercraft projects, drawing, painting, working with clay
I believe that learning should be student-focused, interactive and above all fun. I aim to tailor my lessons to my students’ needs, adapting the content and approach for the best possible outcomes. I am always open and willing to listen to, and respond to lesson requests. In fact, students are the best source of inspiration and are full of amazing ideas. If you have something in mind, let me know, and I will try to work my magic and create it for you.
You might have already guessed it, but I absolutely love owls! They’re probably going to make a sneaky appearance in some classes, so watch out for them! My mum loves owls too! As part of my small little business, I designed and made my own owl clocks range – so cute!
When I’m not teaching, I like to relax and enjoy time with my family. I often spend whole days working with my sister on new craft techniques and ideas. I can get extremely messy!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page today! I hope to see your learner in the classroom.
Best wishes,
Paula (The Tutorly Owl)
