Multiplication
 Week 1
Lesson 1
Conceptual Understanding of Multiplication
Dive into the world of multiplication and explore the key concepts! Learn how to represent it with equal groups and repeated addition. Understand what the parts of a multiplication problem mean. Practice solving multiplication problems using arrays, equal groups, and tape diagrams. (CCSS.Math.Content. 2.OA.C.4 & 3.OA.A.1)
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Properties of Multiplication
Explore the different properties of multiplication, including the identity, commutative, associative, and distributive properties, to build fact fluency. (CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.B.5 & 3.OA.C.7)
Unit 2Division

Division
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Conceptual Understanding of Division
Let's start dividing! Understand the basics of division and how division is the inverse operation of multiplication. Explore how to divide objects into equal groups. Practice solving division problems using arrays, equal groups, and tape diagrams. (CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.A.2 & 3.OA.A.4)
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Interpretations of Division
Understand different interpretations of division, including as a partitioning or measurement operation. (CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.A.2 and 3.OA.B6)
Unit 3Multiplication & Division Word Problems
2 lessons2 Weeks
Multiplication & Division Word Problems
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Breaking Down Multiplication & Division Word Problems
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities by using the strategy Read, Draw, Write. (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.A.3)
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Multi-Step Word Problems with Multiplication & Division
Put it all together! Solve multi-step word problems that use multiplication and division within 100 and addition and subtraction. Focus on problem-solving strategies. (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.A.3 & 3.OA.D.8)
  • Students will use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends. (Common Core Math Standard: 2.OA.C.4)
  • Students will interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.A.1)
  • Students will interpret division problems such as 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 is partitioned equally into 8 shares or as the number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. (CCMS: 3.OA.A.2)
  • Students will use multiplication & division within 100 to solve word problems involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings & equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. (CCMS: 3.OA.A.3)
  • Students will determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each equation 8 × ? = 48, 5 = _ ÷ 3, 6 × 6 =? (CCMS: 3.OA.A.)
  • Students will apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide. (Commutative property of multiplication, Associative property of multiplication, & Distributive property.) (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.B.5)
  • Students will understand division as an unknown-factor problem. For example, find 32 ÷ 8 by finding the number that makes 32 when multiplied by 8. (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.B.6)
  • Students will work on fluently multiplying & dividing within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (Common Core Math Standard: 3.OA.C.7)
  • Students will solve two-step word problems with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They will use equations with a letter for the unknown and check answers using mental math and estimation, including rounding. (3.OA.D.8)
