In this one time class, we will explore:

– What is mindfulness ?
– How does it work?
– What are its benefits ?
– Mindfulness for managing stress
– Practicing everyday mindfulness ( such as mindful breathing, mindful walking, mindful eating)

An overview of the history of mindfulness practices will be presented and various types of mindfulness activities will be explored and practiced.  This class is informative and interactive. Students will have time to journal and share their experience after each mindful practice and ask questions if they wish.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will walk away with skills to enjoy the present moment.  Mindfulness is proven to improve focus and concentration, improve sleep habits, regulate emotions and reduce stress and anxiety.

Parents, if you can help your teens find or create a quiet space for this class, that would be wonderful! Thank you!

Each student will be provided with handouts to take notes, however, if they prefer to write in their own notebook or journal, that would be fine as well!  

If each student can have an unwrapped piece of chocolate (any kind you wish-small bite size would be best) for a mindful eating exercise, that would be great!  Thank you. :)
