This class is taught in a "see it" then "try it together" then "try it alone" format. I will walk the students through how to create charts in Excel, showing them examples on my screen. Then, I will ask students to follow along with examples, leading them through the process while they complete it on their spreadsheets. Finally, I will give students an example to try independently. The class will cover the basic functions of Excel, such as entering data, creating charts, and personalizing those charts.

Students will learn how to create basic charts and figures in Excel from data. Students will be able to enter a simple data set into Excel and produce an appropriate visual representation of that data.

I will provide a Powerpoint with step by step instructions for creating charts. I will also provide example charts and data sets. Students will need to have access to Microsoft Excel. If they do not already have this program on their computer or a parent's computer, it can be downloaded for $6.99 a month. There is also a month-long free trial available.
