Note: It will be extremely beneficial (necessary) to take the first three "Intro to Procreate" classes before taking this class. Across the board, every student that has skipped the first classes has not been equipped to keep up with students that take the Intro courses in order. In this class we will continue to explore the wonder of the Procreate app as we look at: Inking your paintings while maintaining the outline Cel Shading Color cheats Introduction of textures within our paintings Creating, and keeping, crisp outlines. Simple, dynamic shading. (Painting with flat colors, a change from what was introduced in the first classes. We will expand and reinforce these new methods). We will play with different shadows and highlights to create dramatic effects and look at how shadows and highlights can enhance and/or distract. This is the FOURTH class in the "Intro to Procreate" series. It is strongly encouraged to take these classes in order. In this class we continue to bend and break the rules introduced in the first three classes as students expand in their knowledge of the program. \ **Please note: If your student has NOT taken the prerequisite classes (this is the 4th in my Intro series) - I reinforce concepts already covered in previous classes at an accelerated pace as much of the program is assumed by the fourth class. In this class we begin to work on style and breaking the rules**

I am a professional artist, children's book illustrator and stage artist- my works have been exhibited around the world. I love working with the next generation of artists, teaching them my trade and nurturing their talent in an encouraging environment. I am a fast teacher that teaches a lot of information in my classes. Students that have studied with me for years are producing exceptional works that make my heart sing! :-)
I love teaching art to creative young minds and have taught in my community for over 15 years! I have taught homeschool art classes from ages 5-18 and I have also had the privilege of teaching art at local preschools AND I have taught art at nursing homes and retirement communities. This has given me to chance to teach from ages 2-92! I love exploring creativity through the lens of "You can do it - and I can teach you how!" No matter a student's current ability, with proven visual aids and assistance, I can help my students reach their personal goals. If they have the passion to learn, they WILL improve their skills!
As a means to help my students, I am continually improving my own skills, I stay current by continually practicing my own art and learning new techniques, while working with my agent in licensing my artwork. I stay current in my field so that I can keep my students current on trends and methodology.
It is my joy to learn and to teach!
Please note:
*My classes cover a lot of material and are jam-packed full of information that deal with the nuts and bolts of the apps that I teach.
*My classes are fast-paced and full of information and practical applications.
*For most classes, uploads are required before class begins. Please check the classroom beforehand to ensure that all the files are loaded and ready to go in the Procreate gallery. We need every second of class time for instruction.
*I strongly encourage students to take my classes in order. There are many things to be learned in each class and each lesson builds on material presented in the previous classes.
*While I am teaching, I can not answer emails and try to honor my families time by keeping office hours of M-Fr 9-5 for communications.
One last note: It is better for your student to take my classes on two devices ---one to draw on and one to watch the Zoom class! If this is not an option, remember that the recordings will be available after class!! My classes are jam packed with information and tend to move quickly!
