Weekly design project! All learners should post their weekly projects to the classroom page before the next lesson. Fashion pop quiz questions will be posted throughout the week. Full participation will further our understanding of the weekly lesson and help us engage with each other's work.

Experiencia de clase

Learn how to develop a collection just like a fashion designer! Each week we will work on a different step in the design development process. At the end of the course, learners will have a completed project that replicates the work shown in fashion design portfolios.

Week 1: Get Inspired!
Week 2: Construct a concept board
Week 3: Create color palettes
Week 4: Develop custom color palette
Week 5: Build a fabric story
Week 6: Create print designs
Week 7: Compose a print story
Week 8: Sketch design ideas
Week 9: Iterate on design ideas
Week 10: Edit + Illustrate
Week 11: Illustrate 2
Week 12: Focus on flats
Week 13: Flat sketches 2
Week 14: Tech pack details
Week 15: Present fashion collection
Week 16: Portfolio review

Each week, learners will be expected to upload their weekly projects before the start of the next lesson. I will be working alongside everyone, giving feedback, offering ideas, and helping along the way! All learners should check the classroom page to see the work of others and engage in positive feedback and ask questions. This helps promote a positive design studio environment and is a great life skill when working in a collaborative, creative team! Each week there will be a fashion pop quiz question posted in the Classroom along with an "I have, who has" game after each project submission. These questions will further our understanding of the weekly lesson and help us engage with each other's work.

Throughout the course, we will work together in creating our collection and explore how to think like fashion designers. In the second to last week of class, we will be learning how to communicate our design ideas and share with each other the fashion collections we've created! Video submission of the student presenting their work is the final assignment. No need to worry about a clean background or lighting! This should be a stress-free, fun way to share with fellow learners! Each student will receive personalized feedback at the end of the course; highlighting strengths, providing advice for areas needing improvement, and inspiring them to continue their fashion journey! Additional resources and a custom design development template will be provided. See below for basic materials needed. No previous experience is required.

Please Note:
This course has NO LIVE MEETINGS (except the last week if requested). This allows learners to work at any time throughout the course, but please make sure to post each week's assignment within the given week. I will be actively engaging with learners in the "Classroom" tab and can always be reached there or through direct message!
