Intensivo de teoría musical intermedia

In this class, we will approach music in an engaging and practical way that is perfect for students at the intermediate level looking to build their knowledge of theory. This course is taught in a combination of the following: lecture, aural learning, and group discussion. This class is interactive and the learners are encouraged to actively participate in the aural skills and discussion part of the class. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each class.

Curriculum:                           
Class 1: Introduction and review of major scales
Class 2: Constructing a minor scale, double sharps/flats
Class 3: Advanced rhythms and time signatures (dotted rhythms, sixteenth notes, thirty-second notes, triplets, and rests, 2/2, 3/2, 7/8, and 6/8 time signatures), ties and slurs
Class 4: Key signatures, intervals
Class 5: Circle of Fifths
Class 6: Roman numeral analysis
Class 7: Triads and chords
Class 8: Augmented and diminished triads
Class 9: Discuss final project
Class 10: Seventh chords
Class 11: Tempo markings, musical phrasing, dynamics
Class12: Final project and review of all material

                                        
Each class will consist of a review of previous material taught for reinforcement and each class will build upon the previous. Miss Brooke is very patient and is passionate about teaching music to her students. She aims to teach this course in an engaging and interesting way.
