Learners will complete projects to practice the most recent topics we have covered in our class. There are 3-5 weeks between each project to allow time to learn new content.Certificado de finalización

Nivel Intermediate
In this class, we will practice conjugating verbs, speaking in Spanish, and writing in Spanish. We will learn new verbs in Spanish and how to use them in complete sentences to express our thoughts in Spanish. We will focus on a grammar topic each week as we work to increase fluency in Spanish. Every few weeks, we will have a small project to put what we are learning to use. These projects are listed below in the weekly schedule provided along with the lessons. As I teach the class, I will use a combination of English and Spanish with the students to teach and ask questions. Students will be provided with a handout to print or students can choose to use a blank piece of paper and pencil to write down notes and examples from the lesson. Join the class any week as new topics will be discussed according to the schedule below and the topics will cycle through again after the 26 weeks! Week of September 16th will cover preterite tense. Week of September 23rd will cover preterite tense. Week of September 30th will cover preterite tense. Week of October 7th will cover preterite gar, car, zar verbs. Week of October 14th will cover irregular preterite verbs. Week of October 21st will cover "Preterite" Project. Week of October 28th will cover imperfect tense. Week of November 4th will cover imperfect tense. Week of November 11th will cover imperfect tense. Week of November 18th will cover imperfect tense. Week of November 25th will cover "Preterite/Imperfect" Project. Week of December 2nd will cover conditional tense. Week of December 9th will cover direct and indirect object pronouns. Week of December 16th will cover "Conditional" Project. Week of December 23rd will cover future tense. Week of December 30th will cover future tense. Week of January 6th will cover "Future" Project. Class will restart from the beginning the week of January 13th, 2025. Week of January 13th will cover location. Week of January 20th will cover buildings and places in town. Week of January 27th will cover "Location" Project. Week of February 3rd will cover position. Week of February 10th will cover commands. Week of February 17th will cover "Position" Project. Week of February 24th will cover verbs similar to gustar. Week of March 3rd will cover question words. Week of March 10th will cover "Questions" Project. Week of March 17th will cover preterite tense. Week of March 24th will cover preterite tense. Week of March 31st will cover preterite tense. Week of April 7th will cover preterite gar, car, zar verbs. Week of April 14th will cover irregular preterite verbs. Week of April 21st will cover "Preterite" Project. Week of April 28th will cover imperfect tense. Week of May 5th will cover imperfect tense. Week of May 12th will cover imperfect tense. Week of May 19th will cover imperfect tense. YouTube may be used during class to show videos, short stories, or songs. These videos will help students remember different conjugations, sentence structures, and "rules" in Spanish. These will be screen shared by the teacher and do not require students to access YouTube.
Requisitos previos
Learners should have a strong foundation of vocabulary in Spanish. Learners should have experience with conjugating some verbs in the present tense.

Students will be provided with a handout prior to class. This can be printed out and used during the lesson or students can use a blank piece of paper. Every few weeks, we will have a small project to put what we are learning to use. Students may want to use crayons, colored pencils, or markers to add detail to their projects. These materials are not required, but will allow the students to be more creative as they create different projects.

I earned a B.A. in Spanish from Grace College in Indiana. I had the opportunity to live and study in Madrid, Spain where I was immersed in the language and culture. I have formal experience teaching Spanish in a Texas middle school classroom for three years and have experience teaching virtually.
