¡Campamento de disección intermedio!

In this multi-day camp that meets three times in one week, we will be focusing on a different dissection each day. You must have taken Beginner Dissection Summer Camp (or have previous dissection experience----please message teacher) in order to enroll in this summer camp. 

In class one, we will be starting our intermediate dissection with the crayfish (or crawdad). This specimen has a truly fabulous set of gills! In class two, we will be moving onto another aquatic specimen, the perch. This specimen will be the first we encounter that has had bones. In class three, we culminate with the frog dissection. The frog has organ systems very similar to our own and also has an organ that none of our other specimens have had.....fat bodies.  Get ready to perform harder dissections in this intermediate level class. 

Each class will begin with some information about the animal we will be dissecting and then learners will follow along with the instructor step-by-step as we dissect different organ systems. Class discussion will take place simultaneously during the dissections. Students must already have a dissection kit and will need to purchase the above three preserved specimens prior to the beginning of the summer camp (one crayfish, one perch, and one frog). Please look over the supply list before signing your learner up.

At the end of this summer camp, students will have successfully completed all intermediate dissection techniques. They will be ready to move up to the Advanced levels (which include pig and shark dissections).
