To learn how to write cursive well, we'll meet up four times a week for 30 minutes for two weeks. Here's the process to get you comfortable using beautiful cursive writing in your daily life: Class 1: Where do I even start? You'll learn by doing first in this class! You'll learn the first letter of your name in upper-case cursive, as well as other student's names. Then, you'll learn the rest of the lower-case letter in your name, and how to put them together in a way you find pleasing. Throughout the course, you'll be able to look back on how you write your name and refine your signature to be unique and beautiful. Class 2: I know a bit...now what's next? After you're confident in writing your own name, we'll cover some more theoretical basics - the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet, and practise with sample words in upper case. Class 3: Last week was hard! But I did it...what now? Now that you've studied the upper case alphabet, this class is much easier! You'll learn the alphabet in lower case! Through the class, we'll all practise writing in lower case. Class 4: Putting it together is easier than you think! You've mastered writing your name, upper case letters and lower case letters, so now, it's time to start writing! We'll practise writing words and sentences in both cases and show off our work together! Class 5: What's the benefit to all of this? There are many benefits to writing in cursive - faster note-taking, beautiful handwriting on birthday and holiday cards, personalized home labels, and even inventing your own font! One of my favorite benefits is being able to write a beautiful and personalized thank-you note, so that will be the optional assignment for this class. Class 6: I've learned the rules, so now I can learn how to break them...properly. For this class, I'll tell you how cursive us usually used in everyday life. Many people stick with the theoretically correct cursive style, and others mix it with printing to make their own beautiful font that's fast and easy to write, that still has their own special touch. This class will be about discussing how we can write in a way that's appropriate for the occasion while expressing our writing skills and individuality. Class 7: Troubleshooting and tricks. Today, we'll learn about the common issues that go along with writing in cursive. Sometimes, people can't read cursive, it can sometimes still take too much time, and capital letters are often hard to remember. Even how we hold our pen or pencils can use some tweaking! In this class, we'll experiment with troubleshooting options, such as how to incorporate cursive into writing that's still clear for someone comfortable reading print, how to change the way you hold your pen or pencil if you're tired, and also how to create your own beautiful upper case letters if you have trouble remembering how to write "by the book". Class 8: Show off your proudest work. Well done! During this class, I'll invite you all to showcase your proudest handwriting sample. There's only one criteria - you must have incorporated what you've learned about cursive writing in this class. You'll also have the chance to teach the class how you accomplished this work, too! Did you make a larger loop on the "L" to make it stand out more? Did you add a curve to the first letter of a dear friend's name to show them they mean a lot to you? This is your chance to shine and share your best creative knacks with the class so we can all enjoy this skill.

I've taught my own original curriculum at a high-end private training school for six years, and now I'm working independently to offer my courses online! I have an Honors Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and am TESOL Certified.
I value students learning by having fun and connecting to stories both academically and through life experience. I'm also a lover of debates! I believe in encouraging students to hone their existing strengths and interests to thrive in an academic environment.
I've taught everything from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to 1984, but my ultimate favorite to teach is anything Harry Potter! Critical thinking is also another one of my favorite things to teach.
