Nivel Beginner - Advanced
In this ongoing class, students will be learning to draw an adorable animal, beautiful landscape or still life scene and use acrylic painting techniques to paint it. We will break down animals into simple shapes and then refine our drawing. Acrylic painting techniques such as mixing colors on the palette and canvas, gradients, impasto, and glazing will be taught as needed for the specific project. Lessons will be in a "work with me format" with visual and audio step-by-step instructions. I will show my finished work at the start of class as an example along with the supplies needed to create it. Art freedom and fun will be emphasized in a relaxed setting. Students will be encouraged to add their creative personal touches to their work. I will offer a sharing event at the end of the class and/or I will encourage students to upload their finished work to the classroom after it dries to share with me and their art friends. There's no pressure to share artwork but we love to see your paintings! 2024 ongoing... Non-toxic, child-safe acrylic paints. Assortment of paint brushes. Paint palette with mixing space. (Disposable - Tracing paper works great and it's an easy clean up.) Cup of water. White paint paper, mixed media paper or canvas. 8"x11", 9" x 12" Pencil and eraser. Paper towels or paint rag. Plastic paint palette knife.
