In this course, teen students dive into exciting novels for this age group. Through completing class activities, students will practice reading comprehension skills, identifying plot events, describing characters, determining problems, defining vocabulary words, and recognizing themes in books. For each book, students will be given reading comprehension questions and vocabulary to complete while reading. During each class session *We will review reading comprehension questions, vocabulary, main plot points, characters, discuss important quotes/themes/concepts from the reading, and play Blooket.

Students will gain knowledge of new vocabulary words by defining unknown words and participating in discussions.
Students will learn/review plot elements (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution) by participating in discussions.
