Students will learn through class participation how different interpretations are of the same text due to cultural differences and different experiences in life. They will learn in class that once the text leaves the author the reader has a unique interpretation created by the art of the mind.Experiencia de clase

Students will learn what visualization is and increase their visualization skills. Visualization tools and the six senses will be covered. Students will practice visualization with given passages from text written by well-known authors. Students will also learn how to increase their visualization skills and reading comprehension using generative AI. For this example, I will just use my simple sentence "It rained all day and the bluest sky was forgotten like a long lost sailor." Examining "rain"--exploring the sounds of rain droplets, learning more about rain and the different types of rains, seeing videos of different types of rain storms in different countries and during different times of the day, etc. This would help someone visualize better "rain" when reading the text. Class participation is encouraged but students do not have to participate. Students can hear from each other their differences in visualization of the same paragraphs they all read. My teaching style for this class is informal, like a literary club atmosphere. Students are not required to read the full books. The books' dynamics will be discussed, as well as changes in what is appropriate for today's literature compared to the past. The paragraphs chosen for study will be on the two-page handout. Each paragraph offers an in-depth analysis of what we bring forth within to read. Students can choose to visualize or not, when they further perfect their visualization skills, they do not have to use them if they do not want to do so. This topic also covers some basics in filming such as viewer orientation and similar. It covers some areas of ecology, foreign travel, and social issues in foreign countries. However, the focus is on increasing visualization skills. Visualization skills can be used for most subject matters, not just literature. Visualization can help memorize material. Visualization skills can always be increased and improved on at any age. Discussed paragraphs will be from science fiction novel J.G. Ballard's "The Crystal World," and two nonfiction (true stories) books--Grace Pundyk's "The Honey Trail: In Pursuit of Liquid Gold and Vanishing Bees," and Monte Reel's "The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save the Lone Man in the Amazon." These works are considered multicultural literature.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn how to improve reading comprehension and how to practice visualization. Students will learn how the environment affects visualization--whether in a museum, or subway, etc. They will learn to use generative AI to improve visualization.

We will mainly explore visualization sources through YouTube popular channels such as National Geographic and similar. A short paragraph from three books will be discussed and presented on the two-page handout. The books are science fiction author JG Ballard's "The Crystal World," and nonfiction authors Grace Pundyk's "The Honey Trail" and Monte Reel's "The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save a Lone Man in the Amazon."

I am dedicated to helping students happily learn complex material. I simplify difficult subject matter for easy, joyful learning in: critical thinking, reading comprehension, study skills including using generative ai, visualization skills, English literature, literary theory, cultural awareness, and ecology. I have a M.A., M.S., B.A., and I also studied the playing of musical wind instruments with private lessons for several years at a conservatory. During a summer break during my college years, I taught tennis to more than 300 youngsters in New York City for a nonprofit, I also taught more than 200 high school students English for the New York City Board of Education where I received my perm-per-diem teaching license. I worked as a professional in New York City for more than 30 years in communications, and I also had a small, successful communications business. I am semi-retired. I sometimes tutor public school groups for another tutoring firm since April, and work as a part-time online tasker for a generative AI firm.
