In this class, children will have the opportunity to practice and improve their English language skills through the fun and interactive medium of improvisational theater. Throughout the course, children will participate in a variety of improv games and exercises, which will help them build confidence in speaking English, develop their communication skills, and enhance their creativity. The activities will be designed to be engaging and fun, while also providing opportunities for children to practice speaking, listening, and using vocabulary in context. In addition to the language benefits, children will also develop important social skills such as teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability, as they work with others in a supportive and collaborative environment. They will learn to think quickly on their feet, to be spontaneous, and to take risks in a safe and fun setting. This class is ideal for children who are learning English as a second language, as well as those who want to improve their fluency and gain more confidence in using the language in a variety of social situations. Whether your child is a beginner or has some experience with the language, they will benefit from the opportunity to engage in playful and creative activities that promote language learning and social development. Week of March 5: Communication Skills - Students will practice speaking and listening in a variety of contexts, including giving and receiving instructions, making requests, and asking and answering questions. Week of March 12: Vocabulary Development - Through fun and interactive games and activities, children will have the opportunity to practice using new vocabulary in context. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.
I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.
I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.
I have a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in business.
