I am certified to teach grades 7-12 (middle and high school level) English/Language Arts in the state of Texas. I also hold a Bachelor's in Maritime Studies (anthropology), with minors in English and Archeology, and a Master's in Education. Furthermore, I took classes in film studies and have a love of all things Horror and macabre. My teaching experience allows me to take this love and share it, while adding an educational and critical approach to the viewings.

Through my teaching experience, I have worked with autistic learners, as well as those with ADHD and Dyslexia in an academic setting. I try my best to meet learners where they are by scaffolding- providing supports and room for growth.
Parental guidance is suggested as some movies may be scary for some viewers. It is suggested that grownups watch movies with their learners. Grownups can also check out parent and child reviews at Common Sense Media and the IMDB Parent Guide. These will be linked in posts in the classroom each week. Learners will need access to streaming platforms, a library, or hard copy of the films.
