Nivel Beginner - Advanced

Structured as a 1:1 learning/educational support environment, I will provide structured support in any topic in math (basic computational skills, advanced multiplication and division algebra, geometry, fractions, decimals), by using any of the learner's class provided materials, plus materials that I have used in my classrooms over the years.  

* To best meet the needs of each learner, parents will want to communicate with me specific areas of need as well as student interests before class begins.   If I do not hear from a parent prior to the scheduled meeting with the learner, I will plan to meet with the parent to discuss goals/skills desired as well as a individualized learning plan for the tutoring sessions with your learners.  My classroom will be set up as a supportive space where I will encourage and engage the students in their work.  I use hands on games (utilizing dice, playing cards, etc.) as well as lesson plans exclusively created for your student in this class.   (If you communicate to me what your student's interests are before our first class, I will do my best to incorporate those things in our class.  EX: We can use matchbox cars etc. for manipulatives if that is what your child loves to play with.)

Students can get support in current math homework, test preparation or any elementary math concepts that they would like help in mastering.

I love to work 1:1 with students as I feel it gives the teacher and student a great advantage over just working in a classroom where that type of relationship is not all that possible.  We can get to know each other and form a relationship based on our personalities rather than just a relationship based on academics.  My style is to get to know the student and form lessons based on their individual likes and personality.  In my experience, this has been a very effective way to work with kiddos and see results in their academic growth.  I am pretty hands on with students and like for them to work hands on  (especially in math) if this is the learning style that works best for them.  

I have been an educator for over 20 years and have taught kids in every grade and subject as a public/private teacher as well as private tutor/ homeschool educator from Preschool - 8th grade.
