A FLEX CLASS version is now available. Follow the link below. https://outschool.com/classes/keeping-a-home-life-skills-and-home-economics-flex-class-Y3s7pZdK Schooling and education prepares us for many things in life, however it’s hard to bring a classroom into a home. Well, we’re doing just that! Over the next 12 weeks we will go over instructions on how to cook, clean, meal prep, budget, plan and much more. Our class will begin each week with an introduction to our topic and an overview of the supplies we will be using. Together we will be moving around our own houses, using a hands-on approach to accomplish the majority of our lessons. There’s no better way to learn than a hands-on approach. We will complete our class with a small review and Q&A. Each week, students will be working in their own home to put the skills we are learning to action. Upon signing up for the class, a syllabus will be sent to you detailing what will be needed for each class. Each family is different, so name brands of certain products are not needed, nor are brand-new products. Please allow learners to use what is on hand at the time. Yes parents! They will be doing real laundry and cleaning the house! Learning hands on in each class. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a manual detailing all we learned and practiced, as well as a certificate of completion. A teacher response for homeschool credits is also available. Hi there! I’m Tabitha Rivera and I am happy to meet you. A little about my background, I have a degree in English and Creative Writing and have been an online teacher for 6 years now. I also have 18 years teaching experience in a classroom setting in daycare, tutoring and homeschooling. I love learning and believe that everyone should have something fun to learn and grow with. I enjoy fostering in a student’s learning by providing thought-provoking out-of-the-box lessons that keep my learners asking questions and thinking long after the lesson is over. I also believe that learning should be fun! My classes provide hands on lessons that get my students moving and learning in new environments. My favorite part of teaching is answering my student’s questions and seeing them make new discoveries while following their passions.
I currently live in New Mexico with my daughter and 2 dogs. In my free time I enjoy working on writing my book, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. I also love to learn new languages and about every culture. I currently can speak 6 languages and look forward to adding more to my collection.
I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom! Thanks for stopping by!
