Students will be provided with a mini-tutorial via self-created videos reviewing one skill a lesson for the 7th grade math topics listed on the syllabus. I will provide also provide examples that students can practice throughout the week (answer keys will be provided), and an assessment will be provided weekly to determine mastery of that week's skill. - In this course, students will: -develop problem solving skills in order to solve real-world problems -develop number sense with rational numbers -add, subtract, multiply and divide integers -apply inverse operations to solve multi-step equations and inequalities -use the Greatest Common Factor to simplify expressions -use the Least Common Multiple to add and subtract fractions -describe real-world situations using proportionality - find the percent of a number using proportions -identify like terms in order to simplify expressions -find the circumference and area of circles and volume of rectangular prisms using simple formulas
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics as well as a Master's Degree in Education. With 20 years of experience teaching in the classroom coupled with 5 years of experience teaching online to students with varying abilities and needs, I feel extremely qualified to deliver this instruction to learners via Outschool. My love and dedication for math stems from the knowledge that this is such a critical time for students to make the connections of elementary-level mathematics to higher-level thinking that will be key for success in courses such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry or Pre-Calculus (just to name a few).

They will complete this assignment independently so that the feedback provided is reflective of the individual's work. Frecuencia: incluidoDetalles: An assessment will be provided with each lesson. Students that submit the assessment will receive a grade for the assignment, as well as feedback on the work, and opportunities to make corrections if needed.
Students should have a three-ring binder in order to keep track of assignments and notes each week. I will provide a PDF via Outschool messages that will explain to students what needs to be for the week (objective, discussion question, video, practice and assessment). A calculator and graph paper would be nice items to have, however, when possible, I will suggest websites that may have the tools that a learner may need (example: online calculators).
