Start at any time! Learners will improve reading comprehension and writing skills. As an added bonus, they will learn new historical facts. Each class will start with an article focused on a history topic. These will include areas worldwide and dates between ancient and modern history. As we read, we will work together to find key details. Learners will then take those key details and compose an essay on what they have learned. Week of October 7th: The Black Death Plague Week of October 14th: The Roanoke Colony Week of October 21st: Hurricane Katrina (United States) Week of October 28th: The Silk Road Week of November 4th: Biography: Tutankhamun Week of November 18th: Lewis and Clark Week of November 25th: No class!
