Is Halloween your favorite holiday? Then come join us as we dive into the dark and complex history of Halloween. We will go back to the age of the Celts and explore why the end of summer and harvest season was a time to celebrate. We will look at how the holiday has evolved through different cultures and how different religions have come to celebrate it. We will take a look at the evolution of traditions into the modern customs of trick-or-treating for candy and wearing costumes. We will look at the history of jack-o-lanterns and learn about different myths and legends about the day. We will end the class by talking about our favorite Halloween traditions.
