History Herald: Horrible Histories & Terrible Tales of the Past - Part One! Have you ever read something that sounds so horrible that it has to be fake- just a plain old movie script? Or something so bizarre there is just no way it can be real. Well, history is filled with these true stories that can haunt your mind and bend your imagination. Over the course of this class, we will learn about some of the most horrible and mind-bending stories in history - tales that are so horrific, your mind will want to tell you that it is all just a bad dream. Let's go explore some of the most horrifying and confusing stories of the past. Possible Stories Discussed: - Buried Alive: Alexander The Great - The Ravenous Beast Of Gévaudan That Terrified The French Countryside - The Mysterious, Cold War-Era Vanishing At Dyatlov Pass - The Most Haunted Toy In History: Robert The Doll - The Disappearance Of Bobby Dunbar — And His Eerie Return As Somebody Else - The Strange Disappearance Of The Sodder Children - The Dancing Plague of Strasbourg in 1518 Class will be a vivid presentation with student engagement to create an exciting atmosphere. This class is a beginner class so no prior information is needed. We will have an exciting presentation filled with historical tidbits of the past! *Note- this class covers intense topics of scary deaths, kidnappings, disappearances, wars, extermination, and more. This is not for the faint of heart, so please consider the content with your student's ability to handle such topics.*

For the past decade, I have been encouraging students through education and personal development to explore the challenges of the past. Through my own personal education and professional development, I create a safe environment for students to learn about challenging topics of the past. My undergraduate is in history, focusing on United States and European integration, past cultures, and empire. My first master's degree is in education with a focus on English/Language Arts and History. My second master's degree is in history with a focus on world empires and United States/Europe during the premodern era and modern era. I am currently pursuing my PhD in history focusing on immigration and relations with indigenous peoples and cultures.
