In this one time class students will learn about the evolution of flight. We will discuss what animals fly, why and how they fly, and when they started flying. Students will discover how flight evolved at least 4 separate times over the past 400 million years with insects, pterosaurs, birds, and bats. We will examine the differences between these flying animals and how they first took to the air. This class will involve questions from myself and between learners throughout the class, and discussion about class material. No prior knowledge or experience is required, but an interest in paleontology is encouraged. This class covers much of the same material as my High Flyers: The Evolution of Flight (Ages 8-12) class, but is more in depth and is geared toward an older age group.
Metas de aprendizaje
