Experiencia de clase

Call me crazy or call me weird, but in my opinion, Katakana is the hardest writing system out of the three Japanese writing systems (including Kanji).

I know what you are thinking, Japan has three Japanese writing systems, that's insane, right?

But don't worry, even though this might seem difficult, I have studied it, so I definitely have ideas to get you through. If you have taken my Hiragana classes, then you know that with my method, you can learn Katakana easily.

We will study to read, write and pronounce all of the 69 letters of Katakana.

But wait? Doesn’t Katakana have only 46 characters? Well, I am including both the ten ten (not from Naruto) and the maru characters as well. Don’t know what they are? That means you haven't taken my hiragana course yet, so sign up for that one if you want to.

Or:

You will just have to take this course to find out.

Day 1: Students will be able to read write and pronounce
ア, イ, ウ, エ, オ
カ, キ, ク, ケ, コ
ガ, ギ, グ, ゲ, ゴ

Day 2: Students will be able to read write and pronounce
ア, シ, ス, セ, ソ
ザ, ジ, ズ, ゼ, ゾ
タ, チ, ツ, テ, ト
ダ, デ, ド

Day 3: Students will be able to read write and pronounce
ナ, ニ, ヌ, ネ, ノ
ハ, ヒ, フ, ヘ, ホ
バ, ビ, ブ, ベ, ボ
パ, ピ, プ, ペ, ポ

Day 4: Students will be able to read write and pronounce
マ, ミ, ム, メ, モ
ラ, リ, ル, レ, ロ
ヤ, ユ, ヨ
ワ, ヲ, ン

Day 5: Students will learn review and learn the rules od Hiragana
1. Review all Katakana Characters
2. Write your names in Katakana
3. Learn the Katakana hidden rules
    A. Learn about pronouncing and reading long vowels (different from Hiragana letters)
    B. Learn about pronouncing and reading double consonants
    C. Learn about traditional sounds
    D. Learn about particles
    E. Learn about the small や, ゆ, よ
    F. Small vowels to change the word
    G. How to pronounce vowel + R sound
    H. What happens with a TH and V sound in foreign languages, when it is not in Japanese

You will enjoy this class. We will play games (Name the anime, name the celebrity, Kahoot and much more), as well as see PowerPoint slides and read street signs that are in Japan. I want you to have an amazing time and enjoy what you are learning.

I also offer a Hiragana class, if you would like to take that before you take the Katakana class you can or if you want to take the Katakana class first and then take Hiragana class that is also a possibility.

If you want to learn Japanese the fastest possible way, you can always take them both at the same time.

The choice is up to you.
