In this class, students will be guided through the process of tuning up the strings of their string instrument. The teacher will tell the learner, or help them hear and decide themselves, if the string needs to be tighter or looser, and if the peg or the fine tuner should be used. Students need to have their own violin (/viola/cello) for class and know the parts of their instrument (pegs, fine tuners, string letter names), and how to pluck or bow the strings. For students on the younger end or with smaller hands, it may be necessary to have a parent available off screen to help with moving the pegs if they are too difficult for the student to move. Tightening the strings too forcefully or too tight can *possibly* result in a string breaking; the teacher will try to help you avoid this by coaching through all the steps gently, but is not liable for broken strings. Please message me if you would like a sibling discount for two learners signing up for this class.

Students will be introduced to the physical motions of turning the pegs and using the fine tuners, and also start to hear based on the sound if the string needs to be tightened or loosened.
