In this ongoing one-on-one 50 minute class we will celebrate all your child knows and has accomplished. We will discuss and praise what your learner excels at and build on that first. Please communicate with me prior to class about your child's strengths. Does your learner grasp mathematics particularly well? What in mathematics does your learner do well with? Has you child mastered addition and subtraction? Re-grouping? Please be specific as we communicate before class. 

We will then dive into areas of support. Perhaps your child needs support in decoding, fluency, or comprehension in Reading. Maybe fractions are challenging for your learner. Please be as specific as possible. During class, through discussion and informal assessment, I will adjust instruction based on your learner's individual needs. I have experience teaching all components in Reading from phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, to comprehension, fluency, and enrichment. In Math, I have experience teaching number sense, number recognition, place value, regrouping with addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions and decimals and many more concepts. I am a certified teacher and I am licensed to teach all core subjects. 

I strive to make learning fun for students, so we will often play Math or Reading games like Memory or Bingo and I use a variety of tools and techniques based on your learner's needs and learning style. I also make each class different, so learners engage with different materials and methods of learning whether it be flashcards, songs, or books. 

As classes continue, we will go deeper into your child's academic needs to target instruction. Any homework your child needs assistance with is also welcome in class. Please attach any documents to our classroom page.
