In this Ongoing class, students will explore how doctors and nurses could use Math in their jobs. The teacher and students will explore an idea such as weighing a client or charging the clients for the services performed by the doctor or nurse. They will discuss how the doctor or nurse may perform the task using Math while exploring example situations created by the teacher and students. Students should know their numbers to one thousand as well as have an understanding of addition and subtraction. Students who have a strong foundation with their numbers to one thousand and a strong understanding of addition and subtraction could do well in this class. Let's have fun exploring how doctors or nurses could use Math in their jobs! Ideas to be covered: Week of Jan. 17- Patient Weight Week of Jan. 25- Patient Diet (Food intake) Week of Feb. 1- Perscriptions for a Patient Week of Feb. 8- Patient Exercise More topics will be added as the weeks progress.

Hello everyone! Welcome to Outschool!
My name is Ms. Julie and I'm excited to meet you! I teach Reading, Math, Writing, ESL (English As a Second Language), and other subjects too. I've been an educator and teaching for over 20 years in both brick-and-mortar and online. When I'm not teaching, I can often be found tutoring online or in person. My experience includes working with preschool to high school students with a lot of my experience with elementary and middle school age groups. I have an elementary education K-6 grade license as well as a math 5-8 license and a K-12 ESL (English As a Second Language) License. I have taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for many years also. My masters in reading has been a great resource as well.
Every student can learn and I believe we all learn in different ways. I love to have fun while learning! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside with my furry friend or time with family and friends.Reseñas
