Welcome Witches and Wizards!

We have a mystery to solve. Someone is trying to steal the Sorcerer's Stone. We have to work our way through the different Professor made challenge rooms to stop the thief. Just like chapter 16 from our book we have to work together like the main characters to help to solve this mystery.

Course Agenda: At the beginning of class, Students will have the chance to introduce themselves and share their love for Harry Potter. We will then go over class rules and expectations and I will explain how a virtual escape room works. Then, students will follow along as if we are a part of chapters 16 and 17 of the book.  The students will be attempting to solve a mystery and escape from various rooms. The students will work together solving riddles, finding needed codes, and looking for hidden items to solve this mystery. They will use their knowledge from the book to get through successfully. 

How does this virtual escape room work as an Outschool class? 

In this section, there are 5 parts to this escape room. Each part has a time limit and a task (such as figuring out a puzzle, reading comprehension questions, or a specific number code). If the tasks are not complete within their time limit, I will give students hints and ultimately an answer(if needed), and we'll move on to the next part. 

Talking about a topic that you are passionate about is fun and helps to build listening and public speaking skills. Students are welcome to come to class dressed in Harry Potter robes or attire. Wands and magical pets are welcome as well!

My Personal Class Policies:
- Classes need to have at least two learners in order to facilitate a rich discussion and have help to solve problems.  Low enrollment will result in a refund or a transfer of the learner, at the option of the parent.  
- Learners need to follow classroom expectations and be respectful to others.
- For security reasons, learners must show themselves on the camera for a moment at the beginning of class to verify their identities.   
- Be prepared for class as I love to interact with everyone.  
-There is always the possibility of a good discussion extending past the class end time. Learners should not feel obligated to stay past the scheduled time.
