Estudio de la novela Harry Potter y el cáliz de fuego (parte 1)

The Triwizard Tournament is returning to Hogwarts. Students from two other schools of magic will be coming to Hogwarts to join in the competition. Will the tournament be all in good fun? Or is there a more nefarious plan at work? 

In this class we will read the fourth book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. If your learner has not read the first three books in the series, scroll down for a link to those classes! During class, we will discuss what the students read that week. Students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ask any questions that they have. We will also learn about a different element of literature each week, which will help students become better critical readers. We will discuss what they already know about the days topic and do a short activity to practice it.

Students will have an independent reading assignment each week consisting of 2-3 chapters of the book. They will also complete a short assignment to show that they did the the reading and understand the element of literature we discussed in class. The time required will vary depending on how fast your learner reads, but I recommend spending about half an hour a day on their reading/assignment, or 2.5 hours per week. 

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is recommended for 5th - 6th grade reading levels. If you are unsure if this class is the right level for your learner, please feel free to contact me!
