Learning to bake is one of life’s great skills. Your baker will gain many skills and even expand their baking creativity.Experiencia de clase
In this class, students will learn math, science and reading instructions. Students may need supervision with equipment, stove and oven. The technique of baking from scratch will be more difficult but is very rewarding. Occasionally, we will learn how to make recipe magic by using mixes and adding to them. We will learn how to read a recipe, baking terms and prepping. We will learn time management as we will prepare recipes. I think your avid baker will enjoy this challenge. This class is also perfect for a beginning baker as we will discuss the recipes in detail. Classes will run in a six week cycle. We will not bake on class one in a cycle and focus the time on reading and/or learning a new technique. I will note these on the schedule. These classes in the series will be an introduction to baking, terms and tricks you will need to succeed in cooking and baking. The class will use a combination of teaching methods using recipes, hands-on cooking, and whiteboard. I use a second camera during class to show more detail in bowl or pan. Students will be given list of ingredients and supplies one week prior to class. There will some pre-prep required for certain recipes. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Licenciatura en Psicología desde University of Tennessee
I love to bake and have sold/donated my cakes for many years. I cook the “grandma” recipes that taste great but may look more old fashioned to younger students. I also experiment with quicker recipes and new flavor combinations. My grandmother taught me many of these recipes when I was young so it is very special to me. I taught my daughter to bake when she was little and taught cooking classes for young people as well. I love that we add in history, science and math in a hands-on class.
